I know that most women are obsessed with Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, and who could forget the red soles of Christian Louboutin.  I love all of these shoes just as much as everyone else, but the shoe I dream of is designed by Nicholas Kirkwood. He is a London based designer who was trained with the best of the best at Central St. Martins.  I admire Kirkwood so much because every shoe he produces is unique and innovative.  His collection is very architectural.  The platforms, heels and wedges are designed in such a way that is beautiful to the eye.  Once the eye takes in the beauty, the brain says “How the hell am I going to walk in these!”  But Trust me ladies, you can walk in them!  That is how good Nicolas Kirkwood is.  I also have to note that Kirkwood manages to create a genius mix of color and fabric with each shoe.  If you cannot walk on high heels you are out of luck – rumor has it that Kirkwood refuses to design a flat shoe.

Nicholas Kirkwood is clearly a designer who will not comprise his vision or creativity, so it is only natural that he would collaborate with two designers of the same mind set. These designers are no other than Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte.  The Rodarte sisters most recently stepped into the limelight with their costume design for the Oscar hit Black Swan.  You will see the Rodarte/Kirkwood Collaboration in stores this Spring and into Fall.  The Fall Collection offers some of the finest footwear I have seen in a long time. But as you may have guessed a shoe produced by three high profile designers has the price tag to match….
