I was honored to be the fashion stylist for the 2014 Modern Makeover featured in Modern Luxury‘s Men’s Book Chicago. I am fortunate to have collaborated with such an amazing team of professionals and found immense pleasure in styling the ideal makeover candidate, Bob Anderson. Bob is a warm, charming, confident man who fully embraces life and finds pleasure in the little things, particularly his family and lovely fiancée Marilyn. As a stylist, my challenge was to visually portray Bob in the most flattering and authentic way possible. My vision was to showcase a modern, elegant man of style with a hint of old Hollywood glamour and a pinch of rat pack swagger. Think Hollywood’s iconic leading men of its Golden Age, like Steve McQueen, Humphrey Bogart and Warren Betty. Their style was simply debonair and could make any woman swoon, both on- and off-screen.
In creating my vision, I partnered with Tina Koegel and Lindsay McFarlane of Neiman Marcus Chicago. Although we had full access of the Men’s Floor, once Bob and I set foot in the Tom Ford boutique it was a done deal. I choose a stunning tuxedo, luxury cashmere overcoat and sophisticated denim ensemble to capture Bob’s personality and lifestyle. Bob’s strong, tall frame was a perfect match for the selections and he effortlessly wore every piece of clothing as if it were designed for him. I am beyond thrilled with the stunning images that grace the magazine on stands now. Bob certainly made Tom Ford look good! A picture may be worth a thousand words, but the photos of Bob Anderson only require two – Chicago Gentleman.
