If you think knitting is just for grandmothers you certainly have not come across the new French line known as Piece D’Anarchive. I heard the collection was amazing, so made a point to check it out when I stopped by Blake this weekend. I was beyond impressed! It definitely has an Alaia feel but there is something “new” about it. The pieces were edgy yet delicate. One of my favorites (which may or may not have ended up in my closet!) was an ecru dress with their signature trim which is actually inspired by teeth! My favorite thing about the dress was that the knitting was intricate and managed to perfectly hold the flattering silhouette. Thanks to three amazing women – Priscilla Royer, Virginie Muys and Deborah Royer – we have a new fashion forward line that is wearable and flatters most body types. Aside from the actual collection, the other thing I love about Piece D’Anarchive is the website. I strongly urge you to check it out and watch the video. Kurt Stallaert who is best known for his work on the Sisley campaign shot it. I have to admit it is the coolest thing I have seen in a while.
