Quick Background Info: Even though I may appear to be the girliest girl on the planet, I am suprisingly not. I am less than adequate when it comes to doing hair and make up. I also do not like traveling with multiple women to places like the restroom, store or worst of all the gym. The gym thing is new and can be explained by one word – ZUMBA. So it will come as no shock to learn that I do not enjoy manicures or pedicures. The only thing worse than getting a “mani/pedi” is hearing the words “mani-pedi” It is right up there with “we’re pregnant”. I should stop talking now.
Story Time: I stopped by Salon Buzz last night to see my friend, Chelli, for a non chip manicure and a pedicure. I will be the first to admit that she does a fantastic job and makes me laugh. For one of the first times in history, the expression “it’s not you, it’s me” is actually true and insult free! Anyway, I sat down at the pedicure station waiting for the water to get hot. When it started steaming, I tried to roll my jeans up. I tried again and again and again. After many more agains, I finally managed to get my jeans to almost my knees. Who ever thought pulling up a pair of jeans could be such a struggle! All I could think about during the pedicure was “what goes up must come down”! The only other thing that came to mind was, “How the fuck am I going to get these pants off!” Chelli discreetly tried to help me at the end of the pedicure but it just wasn’t possible. Our discretion ended in a very loud embarrassing round of tug of war between Chelli, me and the skinny jean.
Moral of the Story: Do a test run to make sure you can pull your jeans up and down from knee to ankle before receiving a pedicure.
Fun Fact: I had on a pair of black Mother jeans called, “The Looker”. They are extremely narrow at the bottom and have very little stretch. Great for boots. Bad for Pedicures.
